Gerald Anderson Lawson was an American electronic engineer. He was born on December 1,1940 and died on April 9, 20ll. Lawson said his first-grade teacher encouraged him on his path to be someone influential. He had a strong interest in chemistry and science at a young age. One of his jobs as a teenager was repairing television sets in Queens. Gerald is best known for inventing and designing the Fairchild Channel F video game counsel, as well as leading the team that pioneered the commercial video game cartridge. Lawson was inspired by George Washington Carver. Some of Georges best known inventions was crop rotation, and or planting different crops to restore soil instead of single crop farming. Gerald Lawson was motivated through seeing George Washington's work and inventions throughout the years. It pushed Lawson to become focused and locked in on his dreams, goals and aspirations on anything he was passionate about during that time. Without Lawsons invention, we may not have today's high graphic titles or consoles. Lawsons invention allowed people to play a variety of games in their homes. Lawsons idea also paved the way for the many consoles we have out in society today. Consoles like the Nintendo, Xbox, the PlayStation etc. Gamers in today's society should thank Lawson for his contributions to technology and it's safe to say that he is the father of modern gaming. Gerald Anderson Lawson and many other Black inventors have had a huge impact on technology with the mindset of improving our world. To combat racial bias in computing and technology today, we all must find it in our hearts to accept one another. This is the only way things will run effectively and efficiently in our world. We must learn to love one another and accept each other's ideas. We are all in this together in terms of bettering our world.
